Stories of Hope – Good or Evil?

The man sat across from one of our Hope Center volunteers, going over the list of supplies.  One of the pastors came over and introduced himself.  The man spoke up, “I have spirits that talk to me.  They tell me things that are going to happen, that actually end up happening.”

The pastor probed, “I wonder if it was a good spirit, or an evil one?  It’s hard to tell.  The evil ones are pretty crafty at getting you to think they’re up to good, only to do some very destructive things.”  The man became silent.  That seemed like a foreign thought to him.

Our Hope Center clients’ worlds can be very dark.  We’re their link to saving light.  Pray that conversations like these open eyes and hearts to a Savior from devilish evil.

In addition to serving about 125 households each month, The Hope Center – Appleton receives referrals from Pillars, Inc. who are moving into new housing.  There can be 2-3 of these each month.  In addition to supplying move-in furnishings between $200 - $300, volunteers and pastors are part of a much needed support network to these individuals making a fresh start.

Presently, The Hope Center – Appleton is looking for the following:

“Connections” Volunteers with interest in listening to clients and identifying spiritual needs to be addressed in future visits.
A communication coordinator.  A volunteer who could link Hope Center efforts with local churches and other supporters.  They would also communicate special services and events to clients.

Thanks for your prayers and support.
